This weeks video comes from marketing super star Seth Godin who literally wrote the book on Tribe Marketing as he speaks at TED on the new connected world we live in and how it has impacted traditional business and marketing models.
This is a great message for those of you looking to start an online business because it highlights the impact the internet has had on small or micro niches. Sure, you may be the only person you know that might collect loosing scratchies (those lottery ticket things you buy and scratch to see if you won) – but there are probably many thousand people (im guessing) around the world who do this too. And for you to run a profitable business, you don’t need a kagillion customers, you don’t even really need a few thousand. You can easily run a six figure business with just a few hundred customers. With the internet, you have the ability to reach anyone, anwhere. Surely you can find a few hundred people somewhere in the world who want to buy your stuff!
